There are various systems for storing energy, and one of the most widely used methods is through rechargeable electric batteries. These batteries come in many types, including lithium-ion, lithium polymer, lead-acid, solid-state, and redox flow batteries. Each battery type has unique characteristics that make it suitable for specific energy storage applications.

The Battery Energy Storage Test Application, “AEL-BESTA”, developed by EDIBON, is designed to carry out a complete analysis and characterization of the most commonly used battery technologies. The “AEL-BESTA” application enables students to perform all testing procedures automatically, while managing and saving the results in the form of curves and charts for further evaluation and comparison.

With the “AEL-BESTA” application, students can obtain discharge curves by selecting the desired output current, analyze the depth of discharge, measure voltage in both open-circuit conditions and under load, determine the actual battery capacity for different battery types, and compare the capacity of the same battery across various charge-discharge cycles to generate accurate life cycle curves.
