Battery Energy Storage Power Plant (PWP-BE)
PL-467521
The "PWP-BE" Batteries Energy Storage Power Plant by EDIBON is designed to illustrate the critical role of energy storage in isolated or off-grid environments. In scenarios where wind or solar power is unavailable, this application enables users to rely on stored chemical energy within batteries to maintain power supply.
The PWP-BE includes a bidirectional inverter and battery unit, enabling energy storage during times of surplus production and rapid energy release to meet demand as needed. The high response speed of the power electronics used in this application ensures that the stored energy can be accessed quickly, giving renewable sources, such as hydroelectric or wind plants, the necessary time to respond to sudden demand changes.
During periods of excess energy generation, the battery system stores surplus power, optimizing resource utilization and enhancing stability within the microgrid.
