The Automotive Sensors Unit, “AV-S”, offers a practical solution to help students become familiar with sensors used in modern automotive systems.

The “AV-S” unit includes real sensors and components commonly found in today’s vehicles. It comes with a variety of practical exercises designed to teach students how automotive sensors operate in real applications.

Sensors included focus on critical engine management measurements such as mass air flow sensors, Lambda sensors, temperature sensors, oil pressure sensors, and accelerator pedal position sensors. Additionally, sensors for vehicle stability, parking assistance, lighting, and safety systems are also included.

All sensor circuits in the unit are isolated to enable independent study, with all connector points accessible through 2 mm standard lab sockets for easy testing.

The “AV-S” unit can operate independently or integrate with the Automotive Electronic Control Device Unit, “AV-ECD”, to provide real sensor data to an ECU.

Sensor communications use digital, analog, and PWM signals, along with CAN bus and LIN bus network protocols, reflecting real automotive communication standards.
