Computer Controlled Pelton Turbine (TPC)
PL-357064
The Pelton Turbine, Computer Controlled (PC), "TPC", consists of a small-scale Pelton turbine, with a valve that allows the flow to be regulated. The turbine includes a PELTON runner with 16 buckets, which can be clearly seen through the turbine’s transparent casing.
In order to raise the fluid, it has a computer controlled pump that enables the impelled flow to pass through the turbine, in which part of its energy is left, causing the turbine to turn, overcoming the external resistance caused by an electromagnetic brake. This computer controlled brake makes it possible to vary the braking load on the turbine.
In addition, the unit is equipped with a pressure sensor placed at the turbine water inlet which measures the inlet pressure, a flow sensor to measure the turbine water inlet flow, an optical sensor which determines the speed of the turbine shaft and has two pressure sensors at the pump inlet and outlet, in order to obtain its characteristic curve.
The pump-turbine group has a tank and a pipes system which allow to work constantly with recirculated fluid to avoid the indiscriminate water consumption.
This Computer Controlled Unit is supplied with the EDIBON Computer Control System (SCADA), and includes: The unit itself + a Control Interface Box + a Data Acquisition Board + Computer Control, Data Acquisition and Data Management Software Packages, for controlling the process and all parameters involved in the process.

The "TPC" Computer Controlled Pelton Turbine by EDIBON is a small-scale model designed for precise control and analysis of Pelton turbine operations. It features a 16-bucket Pelton runner, which is fully visible through its transparent casing, along with a flow-regulating valve to adjust water entry into the turbine.
To drive the fluid, the turbine is equipped with a computer-controlled pump that channels flow through the turbine, transferring energy to induce rotation. This motion is controlled by an electromagnetic brake that enables adjustable braking load, allowing for detailed investigation of turbine performance under varied conditions.
The TPC includes multiple sensors for comprehensive monitoring: a pressure sensor at the turbine inlet to measure incoming water pressure, a flow sensor to track water flow into the turbine, and an optical sensor to capture the turbine shaft speed. Additionally, two pressure sensors at the pump inlet and outlet provide data for constructing the pump's characteristic curve. The system includes a recirculating tank and pipeline setup, ensuring sustainable fluid use by reusing water throughout the operation.
This unit integrates seamlessly with EDIBON’s SCADA-based Computer Control System. It includes a Control Interface Box, Data Acquisition Board, and software for process control, data acquisition, and data management, enabling users to monitor, control, and analyze all aspects of the turbine's operation and performance metrics in real time.
