The Conventional Power Plant "PWP-CE" by EDIBON allows users to simulate the operation of a conventional power plant within a microgrid, providing base power to the grid and stabilizing frequency and voltage parameters. Users can experience realistic simulations related to the integration of renewable energy and microgrid operation, including generator synchronization and dynamic load management.

For these purposes, the PWP-CE includes a turbine-generator group, consisting of an electric motor (turbine) coupled to a three-phase synchronous generator. The generated power output is controlled by a digital multifunction controller that regulates the turbine speed, generator frequency, excitation current, and active and reactive power (P, Q, S). This controller ensures optimal operation of both electrical and mechanical parameters.

The system also includes a dynamic load control module, simulating power consumption profiles, allowing users to program energy demand and study various control maneuvers within the microgrid. Users can generate realistic demand curves by specifying maximum and minimum consumption, as well as peak and off-peak periods.

Additionally, a network analyzer is included to measure key electrical parameters in real time, such as the energy generated and the energy consumed by the dynamic load. The analyzer supports "Smart Metering" functionality, enabling two-way communication with other network elements for efficient management.

This system acts as the base of the microgrid, ensuring grid stability and enabling the integration of renewable energy sources without compromising the balance of the grid.
