The “AE-PLC-SLB” is a modular ball selection system commanded by a PLC, designed to classify balls according to color and material. Balls are detected as they arrive at the collection point, and based on the data gathered by various sensors, pneumatic actuators guide each ball to its corresponding container. The system integrates real industrial components, such as reed sensors, presence and inductive sensors, and a rotary table with 8 positions, offering a realistic and educational environment.
The main elements of the system include a PLC with CPU and expansion modules, a control panel with start/stop buttons, emergency and reset buttons, and light indicators, as well as a complete pneumatic circuit with solenoid valves, pressure regulators, filters, and actuators to ensure precise and reliable operation. The “AE-PLC-SLB” is structured to enhance learning by clearly separating sections like air treatment, parts feeding, verification, and sorting, each equipped with adjustable valves and pilot-operated check valves for speed and position control.
A signaling tower with green, yellow, and red LED lights indicates the system status in real time. The solenoid valve block contains 12 valves: two 3/2 monostable, six 5/2 monostable, and four 5/2 bistable solenoid valves. Additionally, the electrical terminal block includes clearly labeled and color-coded terminals for easy identification and manual testing of each signal.
Finally, the “AE-PLC-SLB” can operate independently or in conjunction with other stations to form a complete Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS), making it a powerful tool for automation and industrial control training.
